Meet the Samaritan Woman

This section of John is so packed with history, culture, story line and HUGE spiritual meaning. I am not sure I can get it all in. I am "like" exploding with chapter 4, "literally". There is a lot more to this this woman than I have ever realized. As a matter of fact there is a lot of me in this woman, there may be a lot of you in this woman too.

Jesus really shows us his personality in John chapter 4. He has let us know WHO He is, now we get to see what he is really made of. Reflect on this relationship with the Samaritan woman and Nicodemus and we really start seeing Jesus' personality.

P.S. Is anyone reading this? If you are I dare you to comment. I don't think you have the guts to do it!

John 3:22-36

As I mentioned last week, John Chapter 3 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. Tonight we finished off chapter 3 and spent a lot of time talking about trusting God. I would challenge you to think about the two questions we finished on tonight:

1. Do you view your walk with God as a holy pilgrimage… as the central point of your life?
2. As you follow Christ… does your life reflect by your actions that you trust God?

I know I will be thinking about those two things. I want to be someone who trusts God no matter the circumstances... no matter the results. As we read John the Baptist models that very well.

John 3:1-21

John Chapter 3 is one of my favorite sections of the Bible. When I sit and contemplate the gift that God has given us, I find myself feeling undeserving. As we discussed last night... that's because we don't deserve what God has given us. God loves us so much that if we can only begin to understand... we will be left desiring to praise God with everything we have... desiring to serve God with all of our strength. But more than anything else we will find that we genuinely love God because He first loved us.

I wanted to note that I felt like the discussion last night at the end was really amazing. There is something really powerful about discussing God's word. There were some great points brought up that I personally am going to spend some time thinking about. It's fun to see the fervor you all have for God's word. Lets spread it.

Potluck Time!

Next Sunday night we are going to start 1 hour early and have a Potluck! This is going to be a very free form type of activity. Just bring some food to share and something to drink for yourself and then come ready to have some great fellowship! We'll take the first hour just eating and hanging out and then we'll move directly into the regular teaching time. If you have any questions, leave us some comments, email us or give us a call. Seek THE Truth

God is working in a big way at Liferoads and seeing you all there tonight is proof of that! Tonight was a tough message for some people but I hope it was challenging for all of us! We are surrounded by the lies of the world and we so often fall into them. We must learn to seek the truth of God and to expose the lies in our life. My hope for all of us is that we will either start or continue to seek the Truth that Jesus brought to the world. As he said, "I came to testify to the truth". Next week Daniel will continue on in John chapter 3 and discuss the encounter that Jesus had with Nicodemus and dive into the idea of being "Born Again"!

Let Go, Let God, Seek Truth!

Thanks again to everyone who came tonight! It is such a blessing to see each of your there! I truly believe that God is moving in a big way at Liferoads. He is stirring each of us to seek Him more and to mature our faith. Tonight we heard about concepts like Miracles, Gifts, and most importantly Truth. Here are links to the audio and to the text:

Jesus said in John 18:37 "In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth." Jesus came to bring light into the darkness - to bear witness to the truth. By performing miracles, he brought himself glory by bringing light to the darkness!
